I was very surprised to be terminated on the 7th of May, 2013 (after 11 months) from the Alumni Association for the School of Medicine of Loma Linda University. After the six month review, the offer of a raise at that point, and the amount I was able to learn how to adapt and work together with the team, I was caught totally unawares. The Director, holding back the tears in her eyes said, “We really like you…” I asked why my position was being terminated and she said, “It’s confidential. I can’t say anything.” Huh… that was interesting…
